Registration


Q    Do I need to register to use EG PropertyLink?

A    If you only wish to search for properties, there is no need to register first. In order to create an account and advertise your properties online, you do need to register.

Q    How do I register?

A    Simply fill in your personal details on the form on the Registration page, accessed via the Advertiser Login link.

Q    When do I get my password?

A    You can select your password when you register. If you forget your password, please use the Forgotten Password link on the Advertiser Home page.

Q  Can I change my password?

A  To change your password simply call the Client Support Helpline on 0845 301 5544 during working hours and one of our Client Support Team will be able to amend it for you. 

Q    How do I log in once I have registered?

A    Click on the Advertiser Login link on the homepage. You will be prompted to enter your email address and password.

Adding Properties

Q    Do I need to pay to use EG PropertyLink?

A    Searching on the site is free of charge. You can also add text-only adverts to the site without charge. These adverts are limited to 250 characters. If you wish to add an image or more text please call 020 7911 1718 for costs and more details.

Q    How do I add properties?

A    Once you have logged in to your account, click on Place an Advert. By entering a full postcode and clicking Search, our software will locate your address for you. You then simply click on the Use this Address button.

Further down the page you will be asked to enter details of the property and confirm the contact details to be displayed on the property. If you wish to view the ad before it goes on to the site, click the Preview Advert button. If you are happy for it go straight on to the site, simply click the Save button. You will then be taken back to a list of your live adverts.

Q   Does it make a difference how I enter my address?

A    Yes. The software available on the site ensures that properties listed on Eg PropertyLink are accurate and consistent in terms of address, county and region. The software also generates a special code relating to the location of the property that enables a map to be displayed with the property and your property to be displayed on a map if someone searches using the map function.

Q    Can I amend the address details once I have located them?

A    Once you have identified the property address with the correct postcode you can delete or add details as you require. This will allow you, for example, to remove the name of an occupier.

Q    How much detail can I enter for a property?

A    You will be asked to complete certain compulsory fields. These are address, category, property type, tenure and description, the last of which is a text box into which further detail can be added.

Q    I don't know how big the property is. Can I still advertise it?

A    While size is important, it is now not a compulsory field. Please bear in mind, however, that if you choose not to enter a size, your property will not appear in searches where the user has specified a size.

 

 

Joint agents

 

Q    How do I add joint agency details to a property?

A     When adding a property, you will see an Add An Agent button just below your own contact details. Clicking on this will bring up another screen from where you can search for your agent. If the agent is listed, clicking on them will populate the fields at the bottom of the screen with their details. You can then select Use This Agent to add the details to your advert. If they are not listed, you can add their details manually, remembering to complete the mandatory fields. You can delete a joint agent at any time by pressing the Delete button alongside their details.

 

Q    How will the joint agent know they have been included? 

A    The joint agent will be able to view the property within their account on egpropertylink. They will also be included on any emails sent by interested parties.

 

Q    Will the joint agent be able to edit the details?

A    No. They will be able to view the details within their portfolio, but will not be able to change any details.

Managing your properties

Q    How do I make changes to a property?

A    In your account, click on the name of the property you wish to edit. This will take you back into the editing screen where you can make any necessary changes. Please ensure that you click on the Save button to register your changes on the site.

Q    How do I delete a property?

A    Click on the name of the property to take you back to the editing screen. At the bottom of the screen there is a button called Pull Advert. If you click on this, the property will be removed from the site and will appear in the Not Live section of the site.

Q   I've let my property expire by mistake. How do I re-advertise it?

A    For basic text listings, click on the name of the property, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save. This will readvertise the property for a further 6 months. If you have a Premier Presentation that you would like to remain on the site, you can renew this at a charge of £275 (+VAT) per quarter. Please call the helpline on 0845 301 5544 if you have a presentation that you would like to renew.

Q    Why can't I edit my Premier Presentation?

A    Because of the software used to produce presentations, we are not able to offer you this facility at the moment. If you wish to amend it in any way please call the helpline on  0845 301 5544 or email: support and we will be happy to make your amendments immediately.

Q   How can I move an advert into another person's portfolio?

A    Please call the helpline on 0845 301 5544 and we will transfer the ad into another user’s account for you. 

Q   The contact details have changed. How can I change these in all ads?

A    If your details have changed, please call the helpline on 0845 301 5544 and we will change your profile for you. This will change the contact details for all future ads entered. You can edit the contact details individually on existing ads, but if you would like a number of these changed please call the helpline and we will make these changes for you.

Q    There is no map on my advert. Why not?

A   Our maps are provided by a third-party online mapping company. The map shown is based on the postcode for the property. If your advert does not have a full postcode, no map will be shown.

 

Searching


Q    How are my results ordered?

A    Premier Presentations are returned first, across the top of the results page. Then properties with images and more description are displayed next, with basic text listings     displayed last. If you wish, you can choose to order the results by size using the drop-down list to the top right of the results.

Q    How can I be informed of new properties on the site?

A    If you would like to be alerted to new properties coming on to the site that may be of interest to you, you can register for our free Email Alert service. At the bottom of the search results, you will be prompted for your email address and a name for the alert. To unsubscribe from this service, click on the link within the email.
